Your contribution can make a huge difference
In 1990 we introduced a covenanting, now called gift aid, scheme which provides an annual income of approximately £20,000. The Appeal Trust is a registered charity, the funds of which are administered and allocated by the Committee. The following impressive statistic says it all: since the formation of the Appeal Trust, the sum of £235,000 has been gifted to the school. This money goes directly to teachers and departments, who each year submit requests to the Appeals Trust Committee as to how they would use the funding to improve the education of their students. Allocations are made throughout the year so that your generous donations do not stand idle. A few examples of how the funds have been used in the past few years are detailed below:
Whole School: notice boards, digital cameras, new sound system for the main hall, new desks for classrooms and display cabinets.
Duke of Edinburgh: tents and other items of outdoor camping equipment.
Art: printing press, digital camera and a printing hot plate.
Business Studies: computer software and educational DVDs.
Technology: lathe tools, cutters, graphic kit, laser cutting materials, materials for after school club, shear press, graphics markers, mig welder, laser printer, aprons and a technology tank.
English: tape recorder and dictionaries.
Information Technology: digital movie creators and microphones.
Maths: computer software.
Modern Foreign Languages: cd players and microphones.
Physical Education: football kits, basket ball posts and hire of additional minibus for matches.
