What time does my son/daughter need to be in school?

Registration begins at 8.45am and students will be marked late if they arrive after 8.50am. 

What number do I ring if my son/daughter is ill?

Please ring 01562 881133 by 9am on the day your son/daughter is ill and telephone again if he/she is still away after 3 days.

What do I do when my son/daughter returns to school after an illness?

Please provide a signed absence note on the first day your son/daughter returns to school after an illness.

Who should I write to if I need to take my son/daughter out of school for medical reasons?

Please send in a note to your son/daughter’s form tutor requesting absence for medical/dental appointments 48 hours in advance.

Who should my son/daughter see if they have to leave school for an appointment?

Your son/daughter needs to sign out at the Student Support Office. They will then be given a permission slip authorising them being out of school for the appointment.

What am I looking for in the planner? When should I sign it?

All homework tasks and their deadlines should be recorded in the planner. Subject teachers also use the planner as a way of communicating with parents/carers. The planner should be signed on a weekly basis by parents/carers and form tutors.

Who should I contact if my personal details change?

If your personal details change please write to your son/daughter’s Learning Coordinator giving the new information or use the ‘Contact Details update form’ on Frogteacher if you have a unique username/password.

How do I speak to my son/daughter’s form tutor?

Please contact the form tutor by telephoning the main reception or the relevant Student Support Office. A message will be sent to the tutor. Alternatively, you could send in a letter or write a note in your son/daughter’s planner.

Who should I contact if I wish to discuss a confidential matter about my son/daughter?

Please contact your son/daughter’s form tutor to discuss the matter in the first instance. If it is highly confidential or of a sensitive nature, please contact the relevant Student Support Office.

Where can I buy spare ties/uniform?

Spare ties and girls’ trousers are available from the relevant Student Support Office. All other items of uniform can be purchased from the outlets listed in the ‘School Uniform’ link on the website.

When does the summer uniform start?

The summer uniform starts after the Easter holidays and ends at the end of the Summer Term in July.

Where does my son/daughter leave prescribed medication?

A letter, stating type of medication and dosage, needs to be sent to the relevant Learning Coordinator or Student Support Coordinator giving permission for the medication to be administered by the reception staff. The school follows the ‘Managing Medicines in Schools’ guidance. The medication is then left in reception.

Does my son/daughter have to join non uniform events?

It is the choice of the student if they wish to participate in non uniform events.

What if I need to pass on an urgent message to my son/daughter?

Please contact the relevant Student Support Office via the main reception on 01562 886213.
