The School Council at Haybridge is central to our goal that the opinions of all students matter, but is just one of the ways we try to listen to our Student Voice.
The current School Council meets every three weeks to discuss issues that matter to students in the school. There are 2 elected Ambassadors who are responsible for leading student voice within the year group, coordinating student opinion and suggestions and feeding back to Year or Key Stage councils on a regular basis
We discuss important issues of school policy, such as bullying, behaviour, environmental and site issues that concern all students from Year 7 to Sixth Form.
We send representatives to National and Regional Conferences for Student Voice and students together with staff are working towards issues that are really at the heart of our school, particularly teaching and learning. Students have presented at staff meetings training and are actively involved in co-construction of lessons and curriculum.

Other Student Voice activities include:
Eco Schools Committee – Students taking a lead role in working towards becoming a ‘Green Flag’ school, where environmental and sustainability issues are a key priority and where students are involved in raising awareness or changing aspects of the school’s policy, practice, site or curriculum
Student Monitoring - of all year groups; senior staff meet with individual students to discuss their school experience and feedback to staff and students in turn.
Learning Walks - Joint projects under the banner of Leading Edge with Stourport High School and Baxter College.
Training School Ambassadors – All Ambassadors are invited to continue to work in student voice by becoming part of a larger team of students who work with trainee teachers or who take part in interviews for all prospective teaching staff.
We hope that this gives a flavour of Student Voice at Haybridge. If you have any thoughts, queries, questions, ideas or discussion items please email us at:
Sports Council - Sports ambassadors meet to discuss issues that are at the heart of the sports college provision plan such as leadership, extra curricular activities and community links.
