History is an important subject both in school and society at large. In order to understand our place in the world we need to know where we come from and this means knowing about history. It is about understanding people and it develops a high level of communication and analytical skill.

You will benefit from the following resources and facilities:

  • a wide variety of textbooks, internet and library resources.
  • potential for study visits when available.
  • experienced, specialist A-level teachers.

A variety of teaching and learning styles can be used: role play, presentations, hot seating and more. Students are expected to take an active part in their studies with wider reading, note taking and personal research.

Although History lends itself well to professions such as Law, any career that requires employees to think, communicate and use initiative needs History. It is a multipurpose qualification!
