The Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Sport and Physical Activity is a qualification taken over two years. Students are assessed through coursework-based assignments with no end of year exam.

You will benefit from the following resources and facilities:

  • sports hall and fitness suite.
  • suite of PE classrooms, including ICT suite.
  • access to local facilities.

This is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start a career. You will need to be well organised and able to meet deadlines.

Lessons will be both classroom-based and practical. Students are expected to take a fully active role within the course and be prepared to undertake fitness tests and enjoy explaining their results. The PE department actively encourages students to become involved in the Haybridge Sports Leaders Award, whereby they help officiate, organise and coach others.
