This course will develop understanding and expectations in Mathematics for Teaching Assistants working with children in KS2. Sessions will examine the role of the Teaching Assistant and their impact in delivering intervention and small group support. Participants will deepen their understanding of a wide range of key concepts in each area of calculation and the associated approaches to learning, in order to secure and enhance attainment and progression. They will explore strategies that will help pupils to secure known facts and address common misconceptions in mathematics developing mathematical language and effective questioning skills.
